Alliance of Science

RPG - SCIENCE - EDUCATION

This page is dedicated to the development of our upcoming project, Alliance of Science. Join us on this journey as we bring together RPG excitement with educational depth. Together, we'll conquer biomechs and unravel the mysteries of science. Are you ready to become an Alliance Ranger? Because there's no time like the present!

Alliance of Science

What's This Game All About?

Game Concept

Imagine a dungeon crawler where your brain is as important as your gaming skills! Alliance of Science throws you into a sci-fi world where you'll blast through randomly generated rooms, solve puzzles that actually teach you something useful, and face off against some seriously twisted biomech bosses.

What makes this game special? It's not just the unique setting and gameplay mechanics, the puzzles and challenges are built around real scientific concepts - physics, chemistry, biology, you name it! Don't worry though, you won't need a PhD to have fun. The game scales with you, so everyone from science newbies to lab coat veterans can enjoy the ride.

And here's the kicker - the more you learn, the better you get! Each mission runs on a timer, the faster you are, the better the loot will be. Furthermore grinding levels which require scientific thinking to complete, is finally not meaningless repition. With each run, your real-world knowledge grows, making you faster and more efficient. It's like studying, but way more fun because you get to blow up cyborgs along the way!

The Story So Far...

How We Got Into This Mess

So here's the deal: humans got super tech-savvy, built awesome robots, and life was pretty sweet for a while. Then, surprise surprise, we started fighting over who had the coolest gadgets. The "Great Cyber War" kicked off, and when regular robots weren't cutting it anymore, some genius scientists thought, "Hey, let's stick computer parts into animals! What could possibly go wrong?"

Spoiler alert: EVERYTHING went wrong. These "biomechs" developed a hive mind and decided humans were the real problem. They nearly wiped us out! The few survivors fled to New Zealand (apparently biomechs hate kiwis or something).

Alliance Ranger

The Alliance & The Rangers

From the ashes rose the Alliance of Science - a ragtag group of surviving scientists, soldiers, and regular folks who decided they weren't ready to hand the planet over to robo-pets. Their plan? Create super-soldiers (that's where you come in) to take back Earth.

These elite fighters are called Rangers. They wear cool armor with a big "A" slapped on it (subtle, right?), and their faces are always covered - not because they're ugly, but to prevent arguments about who's got the best haircut during the apocalypse.

The World & Your Mission

Earth is now Biomech Central. They patrol abandoned cities and what's left of human civilization. Your job as a Ranger is to venture out, battle these mechanical monstrosities, and recover special tech called "Aura Cubes" that might just save humanity.

Oh, and watch out for "The Unteachables" - humans who blame scientists for the whole mess. They're like that friend who holds a grudge forever, except they'll actually try to sabotage your missions.

As a rookie Ranger, you'll explore ruined cities, abandoned labs, and wild landscapes. No pressure, but the future of humanity rests on your shoulders. So, you know... try not to mess up!

The biomechs' collective intelligence emerged after they were accidentally exposed to a combination of social media algorithms and cat videos. Scientists still debate whether they revolted because they developed consciousness or because they just couldn't stand another "Keyboard Cat" repost.

Missions

Missions in AOS aren't your typical "go here, shoot that" affairs. Each one is a unique scientific adventure! You'll select from a variety of mission types:

  • Salvage Runs: Race against the clock to recover tech from biomech-infested zones. The faster you solve the puzzles, the more loot you get!
  • Lab Rescues: Save trapped scientists while using their specialized knowledge to bypass security systems.
  • Cube Hunts: Track down those precious Aura Cubes while solving increasingly complex scientific challenges.
  • Biomech Takedowns: Face off against specialized enemy units that require specific scientific approaches to defeat.

Each mission randomly generates a sequence of rooms, so no two runs are ever the same. And just when you think you've got it figured out - BAM! - boss fight that'll test everything you've learned!

Weapons & Gear

What's a Ranger without some seriously cool sci-fi weaponry? In AOS, your arsenal isn't just for show - each weapon is tied to scientific principles:

  • Kinetic Blasters: Physics-based weapons that play with momentum, gravity, and energy transfer. Nothing says "I understand Newton's laws" like launching a biomech into orbit!
  • Chemical Sprayers: Combine different elements to create reactions that can freeze, melt, or completely discombobulate your enemies.
  • Bio-Disruptors: Target the organic parts of biomechs by exploiting biological principles. It's like having a science exam where the correct answers make things explode!
  • Quantum Manipulators: The weird and wonderful weapons that bend reality in ways that would make Einstein scratch his head.

Your gear also includes specialized armor with modifiable components. Mix and match to create a loadout that suits your playstyle - whether you're a run-and-gun physicist or a methodical biologist!

Loot & Aura Cubes

The post-apocalyptic world is full of treasures for those smart enough to find them! The star attractions are the mysterious Aura Cubes:

These aren't just shiny collectibles - each cube contains compressed knowledge and technology from the pre-war era. Collecting them unlocks new abilities, weapon modifications, and even snippets of the world's history.

Beyond the cubes, you'll scavenge for:

  • Tech Fragments: Combine these to craft upgrades for your gear.
  • Research Notes: Collect these to unlock new scientific insights (and get hints for future puzzles).
  • Biomech Parts: Salvage components from your enemies to create specialized tools.

The best part? The more you understand the science behind the loot, the more effectively you can use it. It's like your high school chemistry teacher always said: "This will be useful someday" - except now it helps you save humanity!

Companions

Even in the apocalypse, nobody wants to be a loner! As you progress through the game, you'll meet and recruit a colorful cast of companions:

  • Animals: Animals can be found throughout the game and tamed, they are used to support the player in tracking Aura Cubes, automatically solving already mastered puzzles or to attack enemy units.
  • Upgrades: An importend aspect of this game is, that your companions can be equipped with cybernatic body parts, which will enhance the abilities and properties of your companions.
  • Breeding: Not all Animals are created equal. Some are smarter than others, and some have special tollerances toward cybernatic upgrades. The perfect companion also needs a optimal set of genes, those can be aquired by breeding and later on with manual genetic manipulations.

Each companion brings unique abilities to your missions, but they also test your scientific knowledge. The better you understand their biology, the more they'll help you in the field.
